Leaders Susan and Amy working the
La Leche League Booth.
La Leche League of Bayou Region was founded in July of 2005, originally named La Leche League of Houma. The founding Leaders wanted to make
a difference in the communities of Terrebonne Parish. Until then there was no local support for the women in the area. Starting this Group gave the women of Terrebonne Parish the
information they needed to breastfeed their babies. La Leche League of Bayou Region celebrated their 5th Anniversary in July of 2010. We are continuing to gain the information needed to
help get the correct information out into our communities at both the mom and physician levels.
Meetings:
At our meetings, nursing babies are always welcome. Siblings are invited to attend with quiet toys or books.
Our meetings are for all pregnant moms that would like more information on the benefits of breastfeeding, nursing moms who would like to share the experiences, get some new and beneficial information
about breastfeeding their babies and their spouses or family support members that help with the encouragement of breastfeeding.
This is a free of charge meeting that lets moms meet other moms with mothering styles that are positive and healthy for moms and their families.
We are pleased to announce that we are currently hosting 2 meetings in the Terrebonne and Lafourche Parish Areas.
Houma Meeting:
Location: North Branch Library located across the street from H L Bourgeois High School.
